We've all seen the growing problem of speeding and reckless driving in our neighborhoods. It's a danger to our families, seniors, and anyone walking through our streets. Addressing safety concerns requires more than just a couple of radar signs. We need a more comprehensive approach to truly make a difference in our community. As your alderman, I'll make it a priority to improve safety across Ward 7, and implement comprehensive solutions beyond just radar signs.
One of my first actions will be to launch a Community-Led Traffic Calming Program that gives you, the residents of Ward 7, the opportunity to identify the streets most impacted by speeding and work together to implement real solutions. Cities like Milwaukee and Vancouver have successfully implemented similar programs, and we can do the same here in Ward 7. I will also conduct successful street safety awareness campaigns. Together, we can make our streets safer for families, seniors, and all who call Ward 7 home.
I'll also collaborate with local organizations, like Aurora Strong Towns Together, to slow traffic around schools and partner with community groups and authorities to push for more effective safety measures. Additionally, I'm committed to enhancing property safety by working with local law enforcement to implement neighborhood watch programs and increasing lighting in high-risk areas. For our schools, I'll advocate for increased security measures, mental health resources, and anti-bullying initiatives to ensure our children have a safe learning environment.
I will launch a "Senior Safety Pace Car" initiative, encouraging residents to drive at or below speed limits in areas with high senior populations. I will enhance crosswalk visibility with raised crosswalks and high-visibility markings across Ward 7. Additionally, I will implement "Keep Seniors Safe" campaign with targeted education and outreach.
I'm not here for empty promises - I'm here for action, and that's what I'm committed to bringing. From our streets to our homes and schools, safety will be at the forefront of my agenda, creating a Ward 7 where everyone feels secure and protected.
Your Voice Matters, and It's Time for You to Be Heard!
Unlike my opponent, who held only one annual meeting for residents during his time in office, I will make it a priority to hold quarterly community meetings where you can engage with me directly. These meetings won’t just be for show—they’ll be opportunities for you to speak up, ask questions, share your concerns, and influence the decisions that impact our neighborhoods.
To ensure everyone has a chance to participate, I will offer these meetings in multiple languages to cater to the diverse needs of our community. Additionally, for those who cannot attend in person, I will be hosting these meetings live online to keep everyone connected and engaged. For those who are unable to join either in person or online, I will conduct regular surveys to gather your feedback and opinions. This way, every voice can be heard, and every perspective can shape the future of our community.
For seniors, I will host quarterly "Senior Voices" meetings to discuss issues affecting our senior community.
The future of our Ward 7 should be shaped by the people who live here—not by political elites or wealthy donors. It’s your voices, your concerns, and your ideas that will drive me. I will make sure your voice is always at the table, and you are an active part of the process.
We’ve all seen politicians make bold promises only to fade into the shadows once elected. That’s not leadership—it’s politics as usual. I believe in something different: honest, straightforward leadership that puts you, the people of Ward 7, first.
Transparency You Can Trust
As your Alderman, I’ll lead with radical transparency. While city council meetings are public, I’ll take it further:
🔹 Open Dialogue: I will be hosting quarterly town halls where your questions get honest answers.
🔹Real-Time Updates: I will regularly share with you short video briefings on community issues, upcoming projects, and decisions impacting Ward 7—no spin, just facts.
🔹Clear Communication: Every key decision, every council vote, and major initiative will be summarized in plain language, not bureaucratic jargon, and shared with you on my online platform including social media.
Accountability That Stays
I’ll work tirelessly to:
🔹 Amplify Your Voice: Ensure every resident has a seat at the table, not just those with time to attend meetings.
🔹 Follow Through: Track progress on all my promises and share results openly and regularly, because accountability isn’t optional—it’s non-negotiable.
As your Alderman, I care deeply about making sure our seniors in Ward 7 have everything they need to live happy, healthy lives. For me, it's about creating a community where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued. I want to make sure they have opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors, learn new things, and stay engaged in activities that bring them joy. Whether it's helping organize community events, supporting local programs, or simply being a listening ear, I'm committed to being a champion for our seniors and ensuring they have a strong voice in our community.
